Dear participants and friends of the Battle of Libušín Festival,
We are preparing the 32nd year of the Battle of Libušín Festival for you and we have great news for you! Even though this year's edition will be thematically focused on the early Middle Ages, you definitely don't have to worry about losing space for duels between armies from other periods. On the contrary! Just as in previous editions, for example, Jan Žižka and his Hussites dominated, all periods of the Middle Ages have always been included in the battle scenario and its action so that all lovers of the Middle Ages can find something to their liking.
This year, the scenario will be structured so that all participants from all periods have space.
The main program of the festival, the legendary Battle of Libušín, will be divided into two exciting acts this year, which will bring a historicizing story that will take the audience into the life of ancient Vikings and the life of a Viking warrior who, thanks to his valor, became King, and whose life path resulted in an epic clash with the armies of contemporary rivals.
After his death, when he enters Valhalla, he will receive one last task from the god Odin, which is to command his armies of Viking warriors resurrected from the dead against the armies of all times at the coming end of the world of Ragnarok, to support Odin in the great battle at the end of all time!
Act One: Early Medieval Battle
In the first act, warriors from the early Middle Ages will clash with other warriors from the same period or earlier, from the High Middle Ages. As we know RS warriors, it will certainly be intense and full of adrenaline-pumping moments! This act will be a great opportunity for all those who like Viking-style battles, for Romances, early knights and other warriors from the eras that shaped the beginnings of medieval Europe.
Act Two: Entrance to Valhalla
As the story continues, our Viking hero dies and is transported to Valhalla by the Valkyries, where he is reunited with Odin and his fellow warriors, the Einherjar. At this point, the battlefield shifts to a wider historical spectrum, where heroes from the Early Middle Ages clash with knights from the High Middle Ages and armies from the Late Middle Ages, creating a fascinating duel across the centuries: the imaginary last battle of all battles: the legendary RAGNAROK.
This will be a unique opportunity for all who want to meet warriors in armies from different historical eras. Historical periods from the Early Middle Ages to the Late Middle Ages will come to life in dramatic battles that will offer every participant something to love.
No worries! Space is guaranteed for all participants
We understand that some of you may be concerned that due to the thematic focus on the early Middle Ages, there will not be enough space for warriors and participants from other periods. This is not the case! Our effort is to ensure that the festival remains diverse and includes all historical eras.
The attention of recent scenarios has mainly been enjoyed by the High or Late Middle Ages, so we decided to offer a focus on the Early Middle Ages to diversify the audience experience.
In addition to the Battle itself, you can look forward to many other activities and attractions that will offer fun and historical lessons for everyone. Whether you are a fan of Viking battles or a fan of the Late Middle Ages, there is a place for everyone in the Battle of Libušín!
We look forward to seeing your costumes, weapons and your fighting spirit, and most importantly, to reliving historical battles together in an unforgettable experience. The Battle of Libušín 2025 festival will not only be a celebration of the early Middle Ages, but also a place where all eras and all fighting traditions meet.
Free clashes and tournament
This year, like every year, we are planning free clashes after the end of the scenario battle, in which you can have fun to your heart's content, test the tactics of your retinues and glaives, agree on strategies and compete across all periods. Clashes will continue as always as long as there are fighters willing to fight.
And if that's not enough for you, there will be plenty of space in the morning tournament competition, which can be attended by anyone who fills in their interest in participating in the tournament during registration!
So everyone will get a chance and everyone who really wants to will have a blast! :))
Registrations have been open since January 1st, like every year, and you can still register. Every participant in the event, fighting and non-fighting, must register in advance, by name. This is due to legal and technical reasons, as it is no longer possible to register entire units or groups under one registrar. However, if you fall under a group or unit, please indicate this when registering. If you register in advance, your check-in at the info booth will be much faster and there will be no unnecessary queues. Thank you for your cooperation, we would like to save you and the organizational team's time and ensure all requirements set by law.
